These delicious baked apple fritters are a perfect fall treat, packed with sweet, spiced apples and a drizzle of glaze on top. They’re easy to make and a great way to use up freshly picked apples.

- 2 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth, then gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Drop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet in rounded mounds, leaving space between each fritter. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Transfer the fritters to a cooling rack. If glazing, let them cool for about 10 minutes.
- Mix the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled fritters.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different apple varieties or add nuts or raisins for a twist.
