These delicious baked apple fritters are a perfect fall treat, packed with sweet, spiced apples and a drizzle of glaze on top. They’re easy to make and a great way to use up freshly picked apples.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 fritters

Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth, then gently fold in the chopped apples.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Drop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet in rounded mounds, leaving space between each fritter. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the fritters to a cooling rack. If glazing, let them cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Mix the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled fritters.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different apple varieties or add nuts or raisins for a twist.
