Lemon Pepper Wings Recipe – Easy Honey Glazed Chicken for Family Dinner

  • Author: Lauren Diaz
  • Total Time: 45-50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Juicy chicken wings tossed in a homemade lemon pepper blend, roasted until crisp, and finished with a sticky honey glaze. This fuss-free recipe is perfect for family dinners, game nights, or potlucks and comes together in under 45 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings (separated into drumettes and flats, fresh or thawed)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • Zest from 2 lemons
  • 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional but recommended)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Set a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Pat chicken wings completely dry with paper towels for crispier skin.
  3. In a large bowl, toss wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, lemon zest, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack or baking sheet. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. While wings bake, combine honey, lemon juice, and melted butter in a small saucepan. Warm on low heat until just combined and glossy. Remove from heat.
  6. Once wings are golden and crispy, remove from oven. Brush or drizzle with the honey lemon glaze. For extra sticky wings, return to oven for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with extra lemon zest or cracked black pepper if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Pat wings dry for maximum crispiness. Use fresh lemon zest for best flavor. For dairy-free, substitute olive oil for butter in the glaze. Don’t overcrowd the pan—use two sheets or bake in batches if needed. Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end for extra browning, but watch closely to avoid burning the glaze. Air fryer adaptation: cook wings at 400°F for 18-20 minutes, shaking halfway, then glaze.
