Description
French Silk Brownies are the ultimate treat that bridges the gap between fudge brownies and luscious silk pie, offering a rich chocolate experience with a creamy topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- a pinch of salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare your baking pan by greasing it lightly with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
- Add in eggs and vanilla extract. Beat well until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let them cool completely.
- For the silk topping, in a mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form, and set aside.
- In another bowl, melt semi-sweet chocolate. Allow it to cool slightly, then mix it into powdered sugar until smooth.
- Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently until fully combined.
- Spread the silk topping evenly over the cooled brownies.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Don’t overbake the brownies; they should be fudgy and slightly underbaked in the center for the perfect texture.
