Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking pan by greasing it lightly with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add in eggs and vanilla extract. Beat well until fully incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let them cool completely.
  8. For the silk topping, in a mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form, and set aside.
  9. In another bowl, melt semi-sweet chocolate. Allow it to cool slightly, then mix it into powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently until fully combined.
  11. Spread the silk topping evenly over the cooled brownies.
  12. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Don’t overbake the brownies; they should be fudgy and slightly underbaked in the center for the perfect texture.
